The Flip Side- A Real Ferrymens Account.

So…the other side of the coin…the ex-Ferrymen spoke out on their view of the alliance situation…maybe its time someone that is still inside those walls speak as well. One, Damari had only a short stay within the alliance leader walls. So I suppose she of all would know about not being able to hack it. Cant take all the credit, she really tried too. The difference is...we removed ourselves, did she? But pointing out that Ferrymen couldn’t keep up with the demands of the alliance…well that’s just the point isn’t it? Maybe we didn’t want to put up with the demands…maybe as an equal component of an alliance…there shouldn’t have been demands at all.

I wont argue there had been strife among the halls of Ferry. To do that would be denying something I believe clans obviously go through when there is a leadership and structure change. We shifted. I will argue, however, the belief that there currently remains strife. That walked out the door on Damari’s back. There are some in the clan that may still care for Damari, but I happen to know even they have seen a significant change since the time she was removed.

As for the bigger umbrella in town. Our reason for being in the alliance was never about finding protection for ourselves or hiding under the shade of anyone from the big bad bullies of RBC. Our reasons were about having like-minded individuals share in an equal chance to benefit one another. That wasn’t the case, so we removed ourselves.

Since the night I joined Ferrymen beside my then sire Sartori, and hearing the stories of the history from not only the Corridor instructor but from the leaders, the members, and those that had always been friends of the Ferrymen, I have wanted nothing more than to be a part of that. Ferrymen may never return to its former days, that cant be predicted, but most often that’s the way things happen. Change is an integral part of continual success.

We don’t aim to be the biggest loudest stick carrying clan in town. We aim to achieve a clan that gives our members a home, and a place to feel pride in the things they achieve as individuals, all while feeling safe and working towards our goal as a whole. We don’t look at them like objects to do our bidding in the city, we don’t train them just so they can give us as leaders a scary reputation. The success of our clan isn’t credited to the leaders…its credited to the work and dedication of the members that we are grateful to have with us. A credit to them that has been long overdue in the past few months as they have put forth every effort to regain what many had thought we lost.

From the day Lucius created Ferrymen, it was never about being a huge machine to throw weight around the city. That is one thing that hasn’t changed during all of this. Our purpose and mission remain the same as it has always been...even among rough waters.

However, this is a very large difference in what the UnHoly alliance aims to achieve and what we as Ferrymen aim to achieve. Maybe it was because of this difference we were made to feel like a tag-on or just considered ‘the rest’ by the other leaders. We never felt the need to be loud about our actions when we did take them. We just did what we had to so we could ensure the safety and comfort of our members. Maybe down the line these things will also change, who can say?

For now, we, The Ferrymen, remain strong and steady in our beliefs, come what may. And those beliefs, were not the same as those of the UnHoly Alliance.
