Black Blood Lestat

It’s not often I do investigative reporting. I prefer the more editorial leanings of this calling but I couldn’t resist this tid bit when it landed on my doorstep. I even went out of my way to investigate whether this was merely spurious conjecture or the real deal.

I have to tell you my avid readers, it’s not looking good for Lestat. From my super secret source I was given a location where Lestat was luring every human he could muster just to garner the special blood fattening power he gets from God Ravenblack when he turns new humans to this dark way of life.

You would think Lestat, in this Saintly form would have learned his lesson. God Ravenblack has already stripped him of everything a vampire could possibly be stripped of for one such thumbing of his nose at the great power of this city. But does he really dare to do it again, in another form, so soon after being stripped of his powers, his life and his body?

The answer, is a unequivocal yes. Yes, he has.

I personally didn’t believe it myself. I was a skeptic that required convincing until I was given a card with this written on it by way of proof “www.life-blood.vze.com/”.

God Ravenblack has very few rules that we must abide. There are no ten commandments of goodness for us but he does require that we are judicious in how we turn humans to unlife. In fact, it is one of the few transgressions that will immediately see you smite by the hand of our God.

So, let me detail for you how this is working. Lestat lures unsuspecting humans with the above calling card to this ‘one’ location, how he gets them there, I don’t know but instead of the location they think they’re going to, they’re re-routed to another location where they are snapped up by him, made his childer so he can gain the blood bonus God Ravenblack gives us for turning humans to our world. Which is very very naughty.

We are all sinners. We are evil and there is little in this unlife that will move us beyond our own selfish purpose except for God Ravenblack and the edicts he has set down.

For a moment let us put aside God Ravenblack’s edicts and look at Saint Lestat (who is obviously not quite so saintly) and the fact he’s been black blooding to get himself back to where he was at before God Ravenblack smite him the first time. Which maybe wouldn’t be all that bad either if it weren’t for the fact it’s widely known that the Scions of Phoenix, where he is Second in Command, finds black blood abhorrent. In fact, Murrz Ramirez, Lestat’s own Sire and Clan Leader has spoken out against the act many times in public.

Does Murrz know that his Second in Command is getting his blood back so quickly in such a dodgy manner? I would think not. I happen to adore Murrz and if I remember his stance on such action, it was a firm and unwavering, no.

For me this wasn’t an immediate report. For hours I sat in contemplation. I researched and I used my powers to second sight Saint Lestat and with each second sight the picture opened before me in unassailable truth.

This was the state of Saint Lestat’s childer on 12 May 2008.
Saint Lestat is sire to 10 other vampires, including: EmpressLizard (18738 pints), Deylin (16727 pints), Katastrophe (2470 pints), Emile (21 pints), Forsaken (19 pints), Adritha (6 pints), Mareo, Valenwolf, al-jazad, ackmeed

This was the state of Saint Lestat’s childer when I second sighted him tonight:
Saint Lestat is sire to 8 other vampires, including: EmpressLizard (18815 pints), Deylin (17023 pints), Katastrophe (2754 pints), Adritha-Shadow (24 pints), Dorian Winters (4 pints), thraxle (3 pints), Dai reizo, Driretlan
Saint Lestat is a second-generation vampire, sired by Murrz Ramirez (38962).

The truth that I saw, was that Lestat has been severing the 'extra' childer and new childer are gained just as quickly. Why would anyone do such a thing you ask? Why indeed, except an obvious answer that points to an obvious truth. An ugly truth.

He’s been through the wringer, poor Lestat. It may even seem as if this publication were picking on him but I’d also submit that he seems to be bringing the attention on himself with such foolishness. That it really isn't the fact we're picking on him at all. But that his decisions have caused his own trials. Sad. But evidently quite true in this instance.

When asked for comment Saint Lestat was quite short with the writer, choosing not to offer much on the above beyond this pithy comment “I, for one, don't understand the Grim's recent obsession with me” and cumulating with a stern and reproachful “I am saying, that I did not purposefully black blood and that's all you'll be getting out of me today, and ever. Good unlife, Damari.”

Saint Lestat says he didn’t and isn’t a purveyor of black blood. I've never known him to be a liar and I've always believed him to be honourable.

So at the end of the day it’s up to you as readers to make a decision one way or another. It is not for us at the newspaper to judge lest we ourselves be judged, but to offer the news up as we receive it and let the public make their own decisions.

No one ever said it wasn’t hard at the top

Just to point out

- That if you second sight the childers involved in this, they're NOT the consequence of "Black Blooding" - people like Archangel, Rev Awk and others, use dark arts to lure other people to their line to gain the fruits that Raven offers as reward.

These childers have not been brought forth via this method, as you'll see by the fact that they're dead and buried upon their "creation"

(Note: OOC portion of this comment has been moved to the Yahoo 360 - NO ooc commentary on the paper please - Puawai)

Really?

That’s interesting and I’d be really keen to talk with you about the difference in what you believe happened and my take on it.

You were one of the vamps I was going to tag about the black blood so maybe I can accost you soon and we can have a natter about what you just said?

That’s a rather new take on it and I’d be interested to hear your views on what’s been happening. So, if you’re keen, I’ll catch you later on your cellphone?

The Scions forbids black blooding

I'm afraid that I don't know what all happened, or who said what, or what sources were involved - frankly I don't really care either. A lot of people are incredibly biased and childish in their approach to things, and display bad sportsmanship and selfishness, so while there may have been wrongdoing, I am not going to waste my time looking into the background of it.

Steps have been taken to remedy any problem that may existed, and Saint Lestat is now NOT using black blood. Whether he may or may not have in the past is of no interest to me, for the reasons already given, but any potential problem has been resolved in the most simple fashion available.

(OOC: Saint Lestat has disabled his biter link. If anyone wishes to test this, please feel free to try to create an alt under him, I am sure that you will find this to be true.)

If people have problems with a member of my Clan, then surely maturity and a sense of responsibility dictate that they would come to me as the Clan leader first before going to a newspaper to publish details, as that would be a very childish and immature act as I'm sure we can all agree when put in perspective. Naturally, with the people we have in this City, I don't expect anyone to come to speak to me before publishing things in papers. Such a shame that so many people act like a human infant instead of the vampire they have been for so long...

*nods*

I did know The Scion's forbade black blood and oddly enough Murrz. I knew you'd take this stance too. I mean, how else could you play it. This IS your Second in Command we're talking about here. Obviously you can't go off your nut at him in public, that would be unsightly.

I'm not really sure if it means you're standing beside your clanmate in his time of wrong doing, or you're doing it because you can't admit he's done wrong OR (and here is the kicker) Saint Lestat has lied to you and told you he didn't do it.

Either way. It isn't childish to write this article. It is news. It is not my moral responsibility to ensure your Second in Command toes the line of your clan rules.

That's your job. It's not even my job to police your clan members and tattle about them to you when i know they're breaking your rules. That too, is your job.

If it's your stance that what you don't know you can't possibly be held resonsible for, then so be it. If from this article the only thing you've garnered is childish reporting, then so that be too.

But I would think you'd look at your SiC and ask some serious questions about his motives in this matter. *shrug*

But I think there are better people than I leading clans and maybe this is just your way too.

*stretches* I only report the news that is brought before me. I wasn't the one who went out and black blooded Murrz... remember that.

*blows a kiss at Murrz*

It has been brought to my attention that the redirected 'calling card' being given to humans that I reported above has been disabled.

So were Mando and Arch

So were Mando and Arch sleeping while you so carefully investigated? I find it odd, with you being so very thorough that they were left out.

It is cute though, that so many people have such a hard on for Lestat. Goodness, there wouldn't be a thing going on in this city if it weren't for him.

God bless you Lestat, for giving the hags something to spend their time obsessing over.

Because

Archangel and Mandolin della Spada have ALWAYS blackblooded. They've been guilty of it for years. Why report old news?

This isn't old news. This is new news for a vampire that was recently reprimanded by God Ravenblack, killed off and has, upon reincarnation, employed the dark arts to rack up his blood.

*tuts*

WHILE being the Second in Command of a clan that has been quite outspoken AGAINST the use of black blood.

Thus the big differences in the two situations. I happen to like Lestat, quite an endearing fellow. I see he doesn't appreciate the fact this news got out and I further see you're not saying it's all a pack of lies.

So the key here is that we caught him, he's feeling the sting to his honour.

I further see that since you profess him as friend you're going to come here and speak out against quite a valid article. This is factual and it's well written (if I may say so myself). If Lestat hadn't done it, he wouldn't be feeling the sting and I further state that it isn't because I have an erection for him (if that were even possible) but the fact he in actuality created the situation by his act and is all mad he got caught.

Cest la vie.

My Honour

My honour has absolutely nothing to do with your view of me.

Jawdropping! You mean to tell me that honour is dictated by how one views themselves at the end of the day?! NO WAI!

Questioning you...

Questioning you and you reporting skills is speaking out against your story? Hmm... Okay then, glad to have my motivations explained to me. I was completely confused as to what they were.

And as for something being old news, there are lots of people who don't even know what black blooding is at this point, much less those schooled in the art of it. I would think, being the great publication it is the Grim would want to cover all bases, and tell a complete story, not just forward a fews agenda. Or is the Grim writing for a narrow audience at this point?

*tuts*

The chip on your shoulder is showing and it sounds quite bitter.

If you think that an article on Black Blood is something The Grimoire should look at, then I'll certainly take that under advisement.

In fact, never let it be said that I don't take reader comments on board. I'll create a poll for this specific topi, talk to a few people and see what I can come up with by way of an informative black blood article.

Or if you'd like, maybe you'd like to write one yourself for us to publish here and that way you can ensure the points that you feel should be made, are.

I'm more than available for ideas should you have any in that area and would welcome an interest article from a freelance reporter should you feel the need to put your pen to paper and write something.

You just let me know.

This story was indeed well

This story was indeed well written, the fact of the matter is. Both vampires brought up for questioning have openly even said they're Black-Blooders (and proud of this fact).

This however is a good story (it's not someone most of us know let alone it being new news). The clan is against it. It was being done, the childer were being severed (and if he noticed it the first time around why didn't he perform the "magic" (ooc: disabled link) to begin with?). Such questions come to mind but if he wasn't up for an interview either not like you could had gotten such questions answered to begin with.

As for the Black-Blood story, perhaps you can get a Black-Blood to give some pointers for the story. After all sure there are many who would do it if they had an idea how to do it, but because it either doesn't work well for them or they haven't figured out the best way... *shrugs* they claim to dislike it.
